A WALK TO END THE SILENCE ON ENDOMETRIOSIS
Diamond Woman partnered with the Endometriosis Support Group Nigeria (ESGN) and Nordica Fertility Center in creating awareness about Endometriosis. The event, Million Woman March for Endometriosis held last Saturday, March 14th, 2015. The march which took off from City Mall Onikan and ended at the Lagoon Restaurant in Victoria Island had in attendance hundreds of men and women (including senior management staff of Diamond Bank) who came out to create awareness on this distressing disease and to end the silence by offering support to the women affected by this condition.
The month of March is the Endometriosis awareness month.Every March, people across the globe gather to walk with the objective of ending the silence on Endometriosis.
Endometriosis is a very common distressing disease affecting tens of thousands of girls and women in Nigeria. The disease often causes painful symptoms which can interfere with a woman’s quality of life and sometimes compromise fertility. One out of every ten women you know may have endometriosis and not know it.
There is no cure for endometriosis but it can be effectively managed with drugs.Symptoms of endometriosis include: painful periods, pain during intercourse, fatigue and poor general well being.
Diamond Woman continues to support women courses globally because women are the foundation upon which our society is built. Let the awareness for Endometriosis continue in our various wards until it no longer hunts our women.
